The aim of the new law is to fight against the negative effects of online gambling. The restriction comes on gambling addiction, money laundering, and player protection. According to the law every player in South Africa will have to register with a licensed online gambling company. He or she must be over 18 years old. Moreover, the law advises for an electronic monitoring system. This monitoring system helps root out potentially addictive behavior and restricts credit extensions to players. Moreover the business companies will bind in a hard restriction for the new rule.
